Fort Collins Group
For Fort Collins and Surrounding Communities
The Fort Collins Group has about 400 members of all ages from Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley and other surrounding communities. Our members enjoy a huge variety of activities throughout the year including hiking, climbing, biking, cross-country/backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, conservation projects and outdoor educational opportunities. The Fort Collins Group has outings for everyone from leisurely slow-paced flower hikes to challenging high mountain summit climbs. Trips are available for all skill levels and age groups. The goal in all of these outings is to have a good time in the outdoors!
Our group hosts monthly programs, a winter potluck, a summer BBQ, and an Annual Dinner. The monthly programs feature a guest speaker that presents on a topic related to the outdoors or recreation. These events are an opportunity to socialize and learn something new.
Members also have the opportunity to participate in a number of conservation projects in the area. The Fort Collins Group runs several courses/clinics that provide education, training and practical-experience field trips. These are designed to enable members to expand outdoor skills to have a fuller, more meaningful and safer experience in the great outdoors. Courses/clinics include:
- Cross Country Ski Clinics
- Basic Snowshoeing Clinics
- Mountain Hiking School
- Avalanche Awareness
- Trip Leadership Training
- Basic Mountain Biking Clinics
- Basic Mountaineering School
