CMC's San Juan Group
For Southwestern Colorado's Communities
Our San Juan Chapter of the CMC is a local chapter providing outdoor experiences in southwestern Colorado and adjacent Utah and New Mexico. We offer various kinds of trips all year long, including hiking, mountain climbing (ranging from easy walk-up ascents to moderate or more difficult scrambles, to technical routes), snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, backpacking, and biking.
We hold meetings on the third Tuesday of September, November, January, March, and May. At each meeting, we usually have a presentation, lasting about an hour, followed by a business meeting.
Guests are welcome to attend the presentation and the business meeting – or depart prior to the business meeting. Meetings usually start at 7 PM and are held at various locations in Durango.
If you decide to join one of our trips as a guest, please call the trip leader to see if the trip is still open (sometimes there are participant limits). You will also need to sign a Release of Liability form, provided by the trip leader.
