World Summit Series
Denali (6168M/20,320') Upper West Rib Cutoff “Riblet”
Climb the highest Peak in North America (20,320) and one of the “Seven Summits” as part of the Colorado Mountain Club’s 2015 Year of the Mountaineer! This ‘first rate’ expedition will have two trip leaders, a dedicated meteorologist at home to predict weather windows for the climb, and a satellite phone to stay in contact with the meteorologist and outside world. We will climb the more technically challenging Upper West Rib Cutoff (or “Riblet”) Route, taking the standard West Buttress Route from Kahiltna Glacier to 14,200’ Camp, then making our way over to the West Rib Route. Decent routes will be discussed by the team and are partially dependent upon weather and snow conditions. We will get the spectacular views of the West Buttress route and the challenge of a technical 3500’ summit day on 50-55 degree mixed terrain!
