Adventure Travel
For your benefit and enjoyment, the following trips have been reviewed and approved by the Adventure Travel Committee and are officially sanctioned by the Colorado Mountain Club.

05/16/08 Italy's Sorrento Peninsula
SORRY, TRIP IS FULL! The trip begins in Sorrento located on the cliffs above the Bay of Naples.
06/08/08 Montenegro with Rada
Rada Perovic, a resident of Golden, but native of Montenegro, will be your hostess for a two week excursion to this unspoiled Mediterranean and Mountain paradise.
07/01/08 Muztagh Ata, 7546 Meters (24,758') China
Muztagh is located in far northwest China, near the borders with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and despite its gentle slopes, is the 43rd highest mountain in the world.
07/13/08 American Basin Area Hiking
Setup your tent in the awesome San Juan mountains, near American Basin, at the site of the Colorado Trail Foundation cabin. Different hikes will be offered during the week of camping.
07/19/08 2008 In-State Outing
Mark your calendars! The CMC In-State Outing will be in the Collegiate Range northwest of Buena Vista this year. This action-packed hiking and camping excursion is open to CMC members throughout the state. John Clay will again be the camp director.
08/09/08 Climbs in the Alps, Zermatt, Switzerland Area
We will go to Zermatt, climbing mecca of the Alps, and climb what ever the weather will permit. Due to the fickle nature of the weather in the Alps, it will be difficult to plan to climb specific peaks. So this is a "flex" trip.
08/11/08 Wind Rivers Wyoming Llama Trek 2008
A five day llama supported trek in the Wind River Range. This is one of the oldest ranges on earth filled with cathedral-like glacially carved out granite mountains. It is spectacular country rich with wildlife and fish.
08/30/08 Yellowstone National Park Backpack
Famous for its scenic mountains, alpine lakes, lush meadows, geothermal features, and wildlife, Yellowstone offers one of the best wilderness experiences.
09/02/08 Ladakh India 2008 Trip
Come explore the magic of Ladakh and India! We will visit ancient Buddist gompas, participate in the Ladakh festival, gaze in awe at the Taj Mahal, and trek in the remote Ladakh Mountains. We might even get to see the Dali Lama speak near his home.
01/04/09 Ski Austria! (Innsbruck and St. Anton am Arlberg)
Embark upon an exciting and historical European ski excursion! Travel to the birthplace of Alpine skiing.
01/31/09 Day Hiking In Tasmania
Welcome to the world of wallabies and wombats! We will explore the unique island of Tasmania, Australia’s island state, in this all new trip. Tasmania was the last land mass to break off from Antarctica and things there are truly different.
02/07/09 Kilimanjaro 19,340'
We're back with the 7th Kilimanjaro trip sponsored by the Club's High Altitude Mountaineering Section. Kili is the world's largest free-standing mountain and is one of the fabled Seven Summits.
05/23/09 The Heart of Europe: From Prague to National Parks of Czech Republic
This trip is for those who would like to explore nature, culture and history in a tiny country located in the center of Europe. As a native from this country, I selected a variety of attractive destinations and hikes in different National Parks.
