Spring Break Courses 2014

 

Single outdoor climbing days for elementary, middle, and high school students!

Join us for a full day outside climbing!  This day is for anyone who is interested in having fun and learning to climb.  All skill levels are welcome.  Bring the skills you already know and plan to learn some new ones.  Lets have some fun! Click below for registration details.

 

Elementary School Climbing Day:  March 28th, 2014

Winter Break Courses 2014

Winter Explorers for ages 7 - 11

January 2-3, 2014: Join us for 2 days of winter adventure.  We will climb, snowshoe, and have fun in our wonderful Colorado winter.

Indoor climbing and activities at the American Mountaineering Center. We will also head outside and explore the frozen creek next door.


Friday, January 3, 2014

Snowshoeing in the wilderness, hot chocolate, and animal tracking will fill our time.

Students meet each day from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the American Mountaineering Center (AMC) in downtown Golden. Maximum 12 participants and minimum 8. Scholarships are available and a form is located on the registration page.

Directions to the AMC
This course is designed for all skill levels. Ages: 7 - 11 Years Old

Cost: $140 CMC members or $150 non-members. Includes instruction, gear use, transportation to and from field sites, and snacks.

Winter Adventures for ages 12 - 16

January 2-3, 2014: This year's winter adventure camp is 2 days of fun in the Colorado snow! Build snow shelters, rock climb, slackline in the snow.  Dig for avalanche beacons and learn how to predict an avalanche in order to stay safe.  Most importantly we will have fun!

Strap on your snowshoes and hike with us as we learn what it takes to survive in the winter. Build shelters, track animals and make new friends.

Friday, January 3, 2014
Indoor climbing and activities at the American Mountaineering Center. We will explore the icy landscape of Clear Creek and test our skills with slacklining in the winter.
