YEP Teen Ventures

Outdoor adventures for 15-18 year olds

Teen Ventures offers a variety of programming throughout the year specifically for 15-18 year olds, ranging from rock-climbing, hiking and backpacking to working with local environmental organizations. Through outdoor adventuring and stewardship opportunities, participants are offered numerous fun and exciting opportunities to be physically active, challenge themselves, and work together in planning and reaching goals. Teen Ventures aims to optimize the lessons that the mountains can teach, and apply them not only within the context of outdoor leadership, but in many ways that can benefit young participants as they transition into adulthood.  Most importantly, it allows teens to have fun together outside!

Spring Into Service!

Peer-led Stewardship Project for High School Students

In 2014 The CMC's teen Youth Leadership and Advisory Board  worked with Jefferson County Open Space and the CMC Conservation department to put together a stewardship project specifically for high school students at our annual Spring into Service event. The project focused on flood restoration efforts in Apex Park.

Check back in Fall 2014 for our next project to come on out and help us to preserve and restore our local recreation areas!
