What It Does:

The primary purposes of the club are to gather and disseminate information regarding the Colorado mountains in the areas of art, science, literature and recreation; to furnish facilities for the enjoyment and study of the mountains by the Club members and the public; and to advocate for the preservation of the alpine regions.

Why Join:

There are few people acquainted with the Rocky Mountains who will not find some phase of the Club's activities to interest them and will not discern the importance and usefulness of its work to the State of Colorado .

What It Means:

To the Busy Man or Woman -

The Club includes representatives from nearly every school of mountain enthusiasm, some of our leading painters, photographers, botanists, geologists, foresters, engineers, authors, accountants, lawyers and doctors and students of every description. The great mass of membership is and always will be made up men and woman whose daily work life falls in business or professional fields and to whom the mountains mean recreation and rest.

To the Hiker, Climber, Skier -

A regular schedule of mountain trips of various types and level of difficulty. These trips take place primarily on Saturday and Sundays into the most attractive localities at modest expense, with trained and experienced leaders and with the best of companions.

To the Scientist -

A campaign to popularize botany, geology and the other natural sciences so as to create an intelligent knowledge of the outdoor world of flowers, rocks, trees, insects and the like. Special excursions are done for field work.

To the Nature Lover, Photographer & Artist-

A chance to meet with people who love the outdoor world, are knowledgeable of it and who want to expand their knowledge during all seasons of the year. A chance to support the cause of preserving flowers, trees and animals with your name, your dues and your enthusiasm. An opportunity to preserve forever, on film or canvas, the beauty that is the Colorado Mountains .

To the Loyal Coloradan -

A chance to contribute something to an organization which works to celebrate the splendid Rocky Mountain country, educate people about it, and show the them how to enjoy it safely and responsibly. The opportunity to support the establishment, preservation and protection of national lands such as forests, parks, monuments and other natural attractions. Colorado has more high peaks than all the rest of the United States put together.

To the Student -

An opportunity to take classes, attend lectures, support the publishing of mountain literature, and to utilize the second-largest mountaineering library in the world.
