HIKING
Although there are no official trails at this time, there are numerous informal
trails that will take you from ridge tops with spectacular views of Pikes Peak
and the Front Range to creek bottoms with abundant signs of wildlife. Routes
from Palmer Lake provide year-round access on the southeast corner of the
roadless area. Rampart Range Road provides many access points on the western
edge. Although access from the north is closed during the winter, the road
offers possibilities for exploration after the snow melts and through late autumn.
You will notice that several trails end at the eastern boundary of the National Forest.
Please respect fences and signs that indicate you are entering private
property. Do not trespass!
