Stacy joined the YEP staff in October, 2006. Her work as naturalist and educator for the Colorado Division of Wildlife, environmental learning centers, and public schools has provided Stacy with extensive skills and experience related to mountain education. Stacy enjoys working with diverse groups and sharing her knowledge of wildlife biology, conservation, and experiential education. Stacy is an avid rock climber, backcountry hiker and skier.

Certifications: Wilderness First Aid and CPR, Avalanche Awareness

Heidi kayakingHeidi Potter, YEP! Coordinator

Heidi joined the YEP in the fall of 2007. Her experience as an elementary P.E. teacher, gymnastics coach, and volunteer ski patroller has provided her with a broad background in sports and health instruction. Heidi enjoys sharing her passion for the outdoors with younger populations and spends her free time outdoors fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, cycling, horseback riding, and trail running.

Certifications: Wilderness First Responder/CPR, Level I Avalanche, Outdoor Emergency Care Technician, Colorado Professional Teaching License

Brenda Porter, Education Director

Brenda initiated the CMC's Youth Education Program in 1999. She was thrilled to culminate her past work for regional parks, non-profits and schools as naturalist, guide, science teacher, outdoor program manager, and Peace Corps/Honduras community development volunteer. Brenda is active in the Association for Experiential Education (AEE), currently serving as chair of the Rocky Mountain Region and co-chair of the Conferences Advisory Committee. She enjoys hiking and back-country skiing with Bellatrix, the friendly Labrador retriever often seen at the CMC, as well as watercolor painting in the open air.

Certifications: Wilderness First Responder/CPR (first aid), Leave No Trace Master, past Colorado Teaching License, Native Plant Master.
