Executive Director Update: Values to Guide CMC's New Strategic Plan

Strategic Plan Update

By Keegan Young

This summer, our members have explored our state's wildest spaces on Colorado Mountain Club programs. Some of you have reached summits you never thought possible. Others have learned things about the alpine environment, or even about yourselves. We're continually impressed by what our members accomplish.

We've been hard at work this summer, too. Earlier this year, you helped us decide what our next stategic plan will look like. Once our membership gave us a direction, we revisited the values that guide CMC's decisions every day.

Colorado Mountain Club Chosen as 2019 The North Face Explore Fund Grant Recipient

By The Colorado Mountain Club

Today we're excited to announce that the Colorado Mountain Club has been chosen as a 2019 The North Face Fund Grant Recipient.

With the support of The North Face, we will be supporting the Mountain Explorer's Program, a weeklong outdoor education course provided to elementary aged youth during the summer months. It uses Colorado's abundant open spaces, state parks, and national forest area as its classroom to teach mountain ecosystems, outdoor survival, and responsible recreation in the mountains.

Featured CMC Press Book

Coloring Colorado

by Jesse Crock

Coloring Colorado features drawings of some of the state’s iconic peaks, such as Crestone Needle, Lone Eagle Peak, Mount of the Holy Cross, and the Maroon Bells. There are pastoral scenes with wildflowers and aspen trees as well as historical scenes. And there are fun drawings like the much-loved Blue Bear at the Denver Convention Center. For outdoor adventure lovers, there is mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering and more! This 8.5" x 11" coloring book is fun for anyone from age 3 to 93. While many people will want Coloring Colorado for themselves, it also makes a wonderful gift.

To order a copy, please visit our store or call 303-279-3080.
