Trip Overview

Nepal Mountain Cultural trek will offer you an opportunity to see the vast beauty of the region and to observe daily Sherpa life in the rural villages of the Himalaya. Sherpa are friendly, hospitable, and welcoming to visitors in the region and they are happy to invite visitors into their home and share what they have. The Solu Khumbu region has a large Sherpa settlement and most Sherpas are farmers and typically will have some family member who works for Everest expeditions during the climbing season.

Nepal Mountain Cultural Trek is a great opportunity to experience the beauty of nature and to learn from the Sherpa as they overcome daily life challenges and are a happier people despite limited material resources. You will have intimate opportunities to connect with the friendly and kind local people while we trek through many beautiful, terraced Sherpa villages. We will exchange knowledge with local communities. This is wonderful life-changing trip as you take an unforgettable journey into an unforgettable place.



October 31: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)  

Most international flights arrive in Kathmandu by afternoon on day one. Our guide will meet you outside the custom area at the airport. He / she will answer questions and brief you about the immediate arrangements. The trip leader will hold a short briefing in the hotel regarding trek arrangement and general orientation.  

Nov 1: Drive to Phaplu. (2450m) (8038 feet’s)   Gain (3774 feet) 

We will drive by jeep early in the morning to Phaplu. It is a spectacular drive through bank of Sun Koshi River. The drive will takes about 8-10 hours, and on arrival you will meet with the rest of our staff. Overnight in Lodges. 

Nov 2: Trek to Sarkari Party (8000 feet) (Gain 4226 feet) 

Today we will trek gradually uphill through a beautiful pine forest into a true Himalayan wilderness experience. We will make camp fire and enjoy the evening. Overnight in Tent. (5-6 hours hiking) 

Nov 3:   Pick up trash and build trail surrounding area with local people 

Today we will work with local people to clean trash and build some trail around the beautiful Himalayan foothill. We will also teach local people how to preserve natural environment.    

Nov 4: Trek to Beni (13000 feet) (Gain 5000 feet) 

Trail continues gradual uphill until we reach Beni. This beautiful open area is situated below the secret Mountain of this region. Local people bring their yaks up here during the monsoon season. Overnight in Tent. (5- 6 Hours Hiking) 

Nov 5:  Day Hike to Milk Lake and overnight in Beni. (15000 feet) Gain 2000 feet) 

After breakfast,We will hike up to Dudh Kundh (15000 feet) Which means milky lake. You will have a magnificient views of 3 secret mountains of this regoin,  Numbur (6959m) and Karyalung (6681m) and Khatanga. We will hike to back to Beni and  Overnight at tented camp. (4-5 hours Hiking)  

Nov 6: Chhulemu - Karma’s Village (8050 feet) (Loss 4950 feet) 

After Breakfast, we will hike through beautiful ridge to Kamo La. You will have a great view of Mt. Everest if the weather is clear. From Kamo La the trail descends  down to the beautiful Sherpa village of Chhulemu, which is home town of Karma Sherpa. There will be opportunity to learn about local life, cultures and tradition first hand. In the evening there will be a gathering party with local Sherpa people drinking local beer (Chhang and Raksi) and dancing, which is very fun and an excellent way to experience the Sherpa culture. Overnight in Local house. 5-6 hours hiking) 

Nov 7: Explore local culture in Chhulemu

Nov 8: Trek to Phaplu (2450m) (8038 feet) 

Beautiful hike will bring us to Taksindu. We will spend some time to visit beautiful Buddhist monastery. After visiting the monastery, we will continue hike gradual uphill to Taksindo-La, above the Ringmo, the trail from here slightly descends through pine and rhododendron forest to a long Mani wall in the hamlet of Pangma. We will hike through small Sherpa Villages and the final day hike will bring us to Phaplu near airport. (6-7 hours hiking) 

Nov 9: Fly to Kathmandu (30 minute flight) (1,300m/4,264 ft.) 

Fly to Kathmandu (weather permitting). Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. 

Nov 10:  Sightseeing in Kathmandu 

Sightseeing to Shambunath (known as Monkey Temple) and Bhudhanath (the largest stupa in Nepal). Shaymbunath, means “self-existential,” is also known as the Monkey Temple, a Buddhist temple that’s fabled to come from the Lotus flower. Visit the Baudhanath, the largest and tallest Buddhist stupa. There are also many shops, restaurants, and religious activities to observe. 

Nov 11: Departure flight from Kathmandu 

We will escort you from your hotel to the airport for completion of your once in lifetime journey to Himalaya!

Participant must have previous hiking experience. We will have some pre-trip meetings.
