Details

We'll hike the iconic Mt. Morrison above Red Rocks Park outside of Morrison, CO on the west side of metro Denver. The hike has great views of the red rocks, nearby mountains, and Denver, as Mt. Morrison is the tallest mountain in the vicinity. While technically this is an 'Easy B' hike, the hike is steep, strenuous, parts of it are Class II (you have to use your hands to climb over boulders, but nothing serious), and an excellent training hike for 13ers and 14ers. It's hard to know what the trail conditions will be, but given the recent snow I recommend you have traction devices for your boots (e.g. Micro Spikes) just in case. Hiking poles are recommended. We should be finished before noon--if there's interest, we may go for brunch together after the hike. The pace will be moderately fast, and we'll stop to regroup from time-to-time. The hike is an in-and-out hike, not a loop.
