TRIP OVERVIEW: Steaming geysers, bison, elk, and other wildlife are all part of the experience of Yellowstone National Park in winter. Skiers, snowshoers, and photographers will enjoy the convenient trails leading directly from the lodge to geysers and waterfalls. Wildlife viewing,
LEVEL OF ACTIVITY/TYPE OF ACTIVITY: Day hikes, snowshoeing, skiing and photography
ACCOMMODATIONS: Night 1: Motel in Jackson, Wyoming. Nights 2 - 5: Old Faithful Snow Lodge or Cabins. All hotel nights will be shared lodging (2 to a room). If you sign up on your own, the leader will assign another solo participant as your roommate.
Most rooms have 2 double beds (we have 5 king sized beds) and private bath.
The trip cost for the newer Snow Lodge hotel rooms is $1290, the “Western” cabin is $1220, and the rustic “Frontier” cabin is $1095 per person (the cabins are 300 yards from the lodge so you may be “breaking trail” to the lodge when it snows). The lodge contains meeting areas, a coffee shop, and two restaurants. Cabin accommodations are limited so sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis for each level of lodging.
PRE-TRIP ACTIVITIES: Not applicable
INCLUDED IN TRIP FEE: Round-trip transportation between Denver and Yellowstone, a one-night stay in Jackson, 3 full days and 4 nights at Old Faithful Snow Lodge or cabins, happy hours, and several meals (4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 3 buffet dinners), and all entrance fees and gratuities.
Note: If the trip fills up there will be a $100 discount for everyone. This will be determined before your final payment is due.
NOT INCLUDED IN TRIP FEE: Trip cost does not include remaining meals, (1 breakfast, 5 lunches, and 2 dinners), optional sight-seeing excursions within the park, equipment rental, or trip insurance. There is a 3% guest fee for non-CMC members.
Day 1: Depart Denver by bus early in the morning and stay overnight in a motel in Jackson.
Day 2: Arrive in Yellowstone in the afternoon.
Day 3 - 5: Exploring Yellowstone National Park. Buffet dinners and breakfasts at the lodge.
Day 6: Breakfast at the lodge. Depart Yellowstone and return to Denver late..
CANCELLATION POLICY: If CMC or the Trip Leader cancels trip: All money paid ($1095 - $1290) will be refunded, including any deposit.
ALL PARTICIPANTS are strongly encouraged to purchase travel / cancellation / evacuation insurance.
