We start at the switchback on the Mount Evans Road at 13,300
Descend a scree gully to the Lake Fork of Scott Gomer Creek.
Hike west across the valley near a small, unnamed lake at 12,360 feet, then
climb an open slope to reach Bierstadt's east ridge at 13,100 feet.
Head up the ridge scrambling on occasional Class 3 to reach
Point 13,420. From Point 13,641 do a Class 3 descent to reach easier ground.
Follow the East Ridge's easier, upper portion for 0.6 mile to the summit.
From Bierstadt's summit, descend north for 0.4 miles to the 13,150-foot
saddle between Bierstadt and the Sawtooth.
Scramble up to the ridge crest (Class 3). This portion of the route is
well cairned. Ascend a large, exposed
diagonal ledge through the Sawtooth's cliff band to reach easier ground (Class

west ridge for 0.7 mile to Evans' summit (Class 2). Descend southeast for a mile to starting point.
