Get a true Alpine Start this season with a September summit! This trip offers participants the opportunity to expand their hiking skills and put them to the test on one of Colorado's famous 14ers.

September offers some of the most beautiful weather and
conditions for climbing Colorado peaks.  This Outdoor Adventure Skills Session will take participants to the top of one of Colorado's hundred highest peaks and into the surrounding wilderness for an overnight hiking and camping expedition.  The course
will begin with an overview of the essential skills and knowledge
necessary to be prepared while adventuring in the mountains of
Colorado.  Participants will spend a day practicing backcountry skills and enjoying some of the most beautiful wilderness in the state, while hiking and camping near Hoosier Ridge in Summit
County.  The trip will culminate with a challenging peak climb, chosen and planned by participants. Combat the back to school blues by spending some time on the ridges and
peaks of the Rocky

This trip is for 15-18 year old Alpine Start Teen Ventures participants.

Transportation, meals & necessary gear included.

This is an overnight expedition!

We will meet at AMC at 8am on Saturday, September 14 and return to AMC by 6pm on Sunday, September 15.

*There will be one pre-trip planning session to take place one evening during the week before the trip.  Date TBD.
