Due to access issues all around our hiking areas Cameron Peak has been chosen as an alternative to the original LIT Falcon Lk trip. I know some of you have stood on top of this peak, and hope you will rally with the others in their excitement of at last being able to get up there!

In the Rawah Wilderness, 12,127' high Cameron Peak is a prominent mountain in the Medicine Bow Range, highly visible from CO HWY 14.

The route to the summit typically begins and ends at the Blue Lake Trailhead, gaining +3000' in elevation in approximately 12.5 miles RT. We will take the most popular route which travels up the Blue Lk Trail, passes the lake at 5 mis., proceeds to the Blue Lake Pass at 6 mis., and then ascends 1100' switchbacking on a vague trail to low treeline, then on to the summit. From the summit (on a clear day) you will have magnificent views of Medicine Bow Peak to the far north, the Bald Mountains to the east, Crown Point and Comanche Peak to the SE, the summit block of Long's Pk to the far south, Lulu Mt. and the Nokhu Crags to the near south, as well as the stunning Clark Pk and the Rawahs to the immediate west, and many more! We plan to retrace our steps back to the trailhead.

Since the weather report calls for 2 days of moisture at the end of this week. Plan to be out for 8 - 10 hours car to car.

This is a Leader-in-Training trip for Terri Gerard, mentored by Scott Farquhar. As the LIT, Terri will be the contact person for the hike, so
all communications should be directly with her,  Please register with

direct contact.
