Please join us for our delicious banquet style annual dinner, meeting and presentation.  After eating, we will give proper recognition to the members who put hours of planning and hard work that make our organization a success.  After dinner and awards we will be honored to have three ladies from Colorado, Shelley Brook (Breckenridge, CO), Sarah Field (Denver, CO) and Trinity Ludwig (Boulder, CO), who hiked out of the southernmost city in South America northward along the Andes to Quito, Ecuador. They were quickly dubbed "Tres Chicas Locas" (three crazy girls) by locals learning of their hiking endeavor. They were often asked: "You hiked from where? You are hiking to where?"

The Tres Chicas Locas arrived at their destination eleven months later by choosing interesting points on their map and connecting them by routes recommended by the abundantly hospitable locals. Their path took them from windy Tierra del Fuego through glacial lakes dotted with icebergs in Torres del Paine (Chile); from volcanoes and bamboo forests of northern Patagonia to salt flats and “moonscapes” of northern Argentina. They visited the muscular and ingenuously populous mountains of Bolivia covered in a patchwork of farm plots, the Incan trails and high-altitude snow peaks of Peru, and the alpine steppe of Ecuador. To fulfill a secondary objective of their journey, the trio collected data for scientists at Pacific Biodiversity Institute and Washington State University.
