Looking to Greenland

by Mike MacFerrin

Join polar researcher Mike MacFerrin as he takes you on an international scientific traverse across the Greenland ice sheet, giving a day-to-day account of how scientists live and work in one of the harshest environments on the planet.  MacFerrin's vivid accounts of the boredom, frustration and occasional sheer terror of operating in harsh polar extremes are interspersed with stories of befriending flocks of dying birds, exploring a magnificent abandoned Cold War radar station, and experimenting with the best ways to prepare frozen blocks of musk-ox meat.  Time allowing, Mike will also give a preview of some of the latest scientific data coming from one of the most rapidly changing regions on Earth.
