Meet-up - Bergen Park PnR
Take exit 252 from I-70 onto the Evergreen Pkwy (CO-74), continue approximately 2.4 miles then turn left at the stoplight at the intersection of the Evergreen Pkwy with the Bergen Park Pkwy (County Road 65). The entrance to the Bergen Park PnR is roughly 0.1 mile ahead on the right (and visible from the intersection). Look for familiar faces - other groups also meet at Bergen Park PnR.

Directions to the TH will be handed out at the meet-up.

Note: This trip is limited to members of the Rocky Mountain Over The Hill Gang (RMOTHG) and guests. Eligible guests (50 years of age and older) may participate up to two RMOTHG activities -- must first sign waiver of liability form.

This easy snowshoe will follow the Forest Service road from the parking area off Squaw Pass Road (just past the Echo Mountain ski area) to the top of Squaw Mountain. The route is all up for roughly 2 miles and 900' elevation gain - we will go at a casual pace. The area usually has good snow, but keep your fingers crossed, the weather forecast for the week leading up to the trip calls for warm temperatures.

I haven't found a good map of the route/terrain. The route starts on the right hand edge of one topo map and picks up again on the other. The TI map lacks detail. Fortunately the FS road is easy to follow.

Optional stop following trip for refreshments.

Bring poles, snowshoes, microspikes/yak traks, snacks or sack lunch, water, ID, medical insurance card, and appropriate clothes for changing weather conditions.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
