From the Long's Peak Ranger Station, ascend the Long's Peak Trail through Jims Grove and at high point depart trail. Heading northwest observing fascinating granite landmarks along the way reach summit. Excellent views of Longs Peak country and the Mummy Range in Rocky Mountain National Park. Descend to Granite Pass and return via trail.

Snowshoes are required, but for most of this trip we will be hiking without them. Please bring microspikes or yaktrax for easier and safer travel.

Trip Report: All went well, pace was good and we finished in a little over 6 hours. Snowshoes were only used for a brief stretch in upper Jim's Grove. Once up top, we had incredible winter views of the huge snowpack on the Continental Divide and the Mummy Range. Winds were strong and gusty up high so we had to be careful to not expose ourselves to being blown off the Battle Mtn ridge. We got a microderm facial abrasion on Granite Pass!

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
