The meeting location will be in front of the "Fort Restaurant" along Morrison Road just north of Hwy. 285.
This hike begins at the Tanglewood Creek trail head and gradually climbs to a saddle along Pegmatite ridge. The bulk of the elevation gain we do on this trip is covered over the first 3 ½ miles, so expect some tough steep sections. From the saddle, we’ll then descend approximately 300’ in 1 mile to Roosevelt Lakes where we can finally enjoy lunch. Our return trip involves only 300’ of elevation gain, but having just finished lunch, it might feel like a thousand feet!
