Details

Join the CMC's Youth Education Program staff for hiking, rock climbing, and exploring in the San Luis Valley's unique mountain and valley environments. This five day adventure course will take youth on adventures in terrain ranging from forests and canyons, to vertical rock and mountain forests. Through hands-on activities and observation games, participants will learn the basics of survival including shelter building, navigation, plant identification, wildlife tracking, and more!

Course fee includes instruction by AMGA certified single pitch climbing instructor and trained outdoor educators, equipment use, transportation to and from sites, field journal, outdoor safety kit, and snacks. Confirmation packets with a detailed itinerary, recommended gear list, health form, and liability release forms will be mailed in May.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY: A 50% refund will be granted for cancellations requested more than seven days prior to the first class. No refunds will be granted within seven days of the course start date. If the CMC cancels the class for any reason, a full refund will be issued. SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships are available.
