Celebrate your Independence Day at 14,000 feet!

CMC will join the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI) for a volunteer stewardship project on Mountain of the Holy Cross.

This four-day project will take you in to some of the most remote backcountry terrain easily accessible from the Front Range. Participants will work to install trail features and restore trampled vegetation from near treeline up to the point where CFI’s new route begins along the ridge. On day one you’ll meet up at the trailhead (or meet and carpool from Denver) and backpack about 2.5 miles before setting up camp in designated sites near East Cross Creek. On days two and three you’ll hike into the high alpine to help build trail structures to protect the trail, limit erosion, and protect adjacent alpine tundra vegetation. Return to camp each evening to enjoy the views of Holy Cross and the camaraderie of your crewmates. You will pack up camp and hike out on day four.

More details coming soon but be sure to register today as space is limited!
