Yes, it's another Bear Creek - one of 100 or so in Colorado. This one starts in the Rampart Range, passing through Perry Park, before joining Plum Creek, southwest of Castle Rock. It is one of several rugged valleys to be explored as part of the Rampart Range Wildlands Bio-Blitz.

This hike will contribute to understanding the Wilderness
Qualities of the Rampart Range Wildlands, the largest block of roadless land on
the Front Range urban backdrop. Under the guidance of a biologist, we will
survey the creek and canyon of Bear Creek, a tributary of Plum Creek, for
interesting or unusual plant and animal life.
After a 2 mile hike in through Perry Park, we will be off-trail and
exploring -- be prepared to climb over and through downed trees, maneuver
through rocks, and wade in streams (please bring sandals to wade with). It will be a difficult bushwhack. Pace will be intermittent -- the biologist
will guide us to research spots and we will spend time in that area before
moving on to the next spot.  Be prepared
to be a research assistant, with food and water for a full day in the

Several other bioblitz hikes are available on Saturday June 21and Sunday June 22 -- you may sign up for one or both dates.
