Come join Dave Callais (formerly known in the CMC as the Cookie Man) and now the adopter for this section of the Colorado Trail. This 2 1/2 day trip involves trail work along the Colorado Trail (Section 8.2) above Copper Mountain and near Janet's Cabin.

The group will hike into the area with gear and food to spend the two nights, but won't have to spend the night out in a tent! I've been able to secure Janet's Cabin "for FREE" for the two nights we'll be up there while doing some trail work in the area. All participants will only be required to carry the necessary gear (sleeping bag, food, day pack, etc.) for spending the night at the cabin and participating in the daily trail work routines. For additional information about gear or food, feel free to contact me.

The work to be done is repairing some very wet and boggy areas (hopefully dry now) and critical tread repair and maintenance to help in shedding water from the trail. Please don't think that this will be all work and no play. If you'd like to see the area at any time while up there, participants will be able to do so, but I would like some help whenever you're not playing. The goal is to try to improve the trail above timberline for not only future trail users that use the trail on a year round basis, but also to do enough work to prevent any future problems from arising.

I hope you'll join me as we spend 2 1/2 days on the Colorado Trail repairing and maintaining this wonderful trail in Colorado!

Work gloves are required!
