  • name/email/phone number of person referring them for trip leader, 

  • courses completed relating to traveling in the mountains (CMC or equivalent), 

  • summary of mountaineering experience (limit to half a page), 

  • summary of their outdoor leadership experience  (limit to half a page), 

  • summary of what ways the have volunteered for the CMC (limit to half a page), 

  • their goals as a cmc trip leader (limit to half a page). 




 
Pre course independent study and homework -due by noon on Feb 3rd. (plan about 4 hours)— 






 


Training day schedule:--note, this will be a long day, this is a condensed schedule option, another trip leader session will be offered in the spring with the standard schedule of one evening and one field day.




  • Classroom session  7:00 am to 11 am

  • Participant sign up scenarios 11 am to 12:00 am. (Students welcome to eat lunch that they bring during this training)

  • Student write up first trip lead description. 12:00 to 12:30, either on paper by hand or on computer typed up (their choice)

  • Student break 12: 30 to 1 pm 

  • Feedback on trip lead descriptions (1:00 to 1:30 pm)

  • Drive to trail head (shanahan ridge TH in Boulder) 1:30 to 1:45

  • Field trip leading scenarios (about 4 hours)   1:45 to 5:45. (Bring headlamps, 10 essentials, appropriate gear for hike or peak (not a rock climb) for current weather, it will get colder by the time we wrap up), include first aid kit
