This was supposed to be a snowshoe in Fraser, but high winds plus banana belt weather have melted or probably will melt the rest of the snow leaving mud. So instead of someplace new and not as far away, opted instead for "reliable" snow pretty far from Denver.Unfortunately I haven't had time to scout and won't before next Wednesday so I can't guarantee conditions - please come prepared for what we find. Peru Creek usually has semi-packed snow on the trail and quite deep snow if you wander off. The forecast between now and Wednesday next calls for highs in the 30's then into the 40's on Tuesday and Wednesday with low's in the 20's and a couple of chances for snow. Hard to say what we'll find.I aim for the open area about 1/2 mile past the Lenawee TH or possibly a bit farther. We'll check out the one avalanche area carefully before continuing. We start at 10,023' and climb gradually. Good mixture of views, the outdoors - might be fun.
