The hike is for those BMS students who still need to obtain their 'C' hiker classification.  BMS students will be given first priority.  Others may join if the roster is not full.

This is a challenging hike that starts on the Mesa Trail, then heads up the steep Shadow Canyon trail to the saddle between Bear Peak and South Boulder Peaks.  We will go over to South Boulder Peak first then return to the saddle and head up to Bear Peak.  We will return down the Fern Canyon trail back to the Mesa Trail then South Mesa trailhead   The canyon contains some steep sections and can be icy, so bring microspikes (trekking poles also help).  Expect a lot of rock steps and uneven terrain!  Both peaks have some scrambling opportunities, although these are optional.  If the skies are clear for the hike, you can see a clear view of the entire continental divide from Evans to Longs.

If you are working towards a C hiker classification, this can qualify as your difficult C.

We will stop in Boulder to finish change classifcation forms.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
