Please contact the leader for this trip. If there are people from Colorado Springs, we can make arrangements to meet up.

We will start hiking at the Gold Camp Road Trailhead in North Cheyenne Canyon (above Colorado Springs). The original loop was about 7.5 miles and included the Seven Bridges (NFT622), Seven Bridges Spur (NFT622.A), Jones Park (NFT667), and the Mt. Buckhorn trails. The Forest Service has decided to make major changes to these (and adjacent) trails in order to protect the last pure population of Greenback Cutthroat Trout in Bear Creek, and most of those changes have been implemented. We will go explore the new (and old) trails to visit this lovely and historic old settlement. People lived in Jones Park for 40-50 years, but gave up by the 1930's. The actual trip will be between 6 miles and 9 miles, depending on where we decide to explore.
