Notes

Trip Report:
I learned a lot on this trip. 1) Golden Gate SP has accessible bathrooms at all trail heads.2) no cell service in park, pretty much everywhere. 3) in April some roads can be gated off - closed, due to snow.
The 4 of us met at the Junction of Hwy 93 & Golden Gate Canyon Rd. - a good spot to meet for this hike. SW part of intersection. there are restrooms at Galbraith Park only 5 minutes in route to GGCSP . Tremont Mountain has no established path or trail to its summit. We started hiking at 9:30 at Boot Leg Bottom TH. Due to 7-10 inches of snow the previous day, our group found the conditions to be slippery and we couldn't locate the seasonal spring that was the sought route to the summit. We hiked about 1.5 miles in and bushwhacked north towards summit. Conditions weren't favorable so we noshed and called it a day at noon, returning to the cars by 1:30 . Mariko's phone stated we travel 3.5 miles and 1200' We will try again in May or June. Suzanne Allexan
