Meet up at the entrance of Blanca Peak Road off Hwy 150 at 8:00am. Drive up and park as high as we can. Hike to Lake Como. Setup camp. Scout the gully. Call it a day. Sunday start time 4:30am.  Summit AM, back at camp PM and home before bedtime.

This is a challenging technical snow climb of one of Colorado's toughest 14'ers.  It requires a high level of physical and mental stamina, skills and experience covering snow travel, route-finding, avy gear, ice axe & crampons, mixed climbing and potential rope work including rappelling.  We'll likely be camping in the snow, too. BMS and an active climbing resume works.  So does equivalent training, experience and skills.

Max Team size - 6, including leader.

If you are interested in car pooling, send a note.

Drive Distance is from Littleton, CO to Blanca Peak Rd, aka Lake Como Rd.

Trip is weather dependent.  For this climb, zero to 20% precip on climb day is max weather parameters for climb/not climb decison.  I led this climb in mid-April, 2011 with a 50% precip forecast. Too challenging and long to be a lot of fun.
