Details

This is a one-way ski tour that follows a 2% grade over a distance of 5 miles and about 600 foot descent from Loveland Valley Ski Area to Bakerville. The trail is paved, so pretty wide and smooth.

Although the trail parallels I-70 it is almost entirely in the trees with the road only occasionally visible and at times you will be able to hear the highway.
Overall the trail is good and a pretty mellow experience for skiers with a few gentle downhill sections but mostly kick and glide. The pace for this trip will be casual with plenty of rest and snack breaks as needed.

*Please contact Vern Bass the leader if you have ANY questions or concers.

**Well trained, friendly & obedient dogs welcome.......

Notes

The pace for this trip will be casual with plenty of rest and snack breaks as needed. Participants are urged to be prepared for winter conditions - warm clothing, hydration, snacks, sun protection, proper wax or waxless skis, etc.

Please contact the leader if you have any questions about what to bring. Since this area is relatively safe, and parallels I-70, we will not cancel unless weather conditions are hazardous - otherwise be prepared for winter weather. If you are not one of the drivers please be prepared to assist with gasoline/milage expenses.

Planning on a late lunch at a new Georgetown restaurant 'Cooper's' for those interested.
