Starting from the “barely-there” town of Tolland, snowshoe up Mammoth Gulch, which is located just a mile or so east of the Moffat Tunnel. This seldom-visited trail offers gorgeous views of South Arapahoe Peak to the north, the southern Indian Peaks and the west face of James Peak. Depending on weather conditions there are options to stay in the trees to visit an old reservoir and mining sites or go to the top of Mammoth Gulch road for lunch and the views.

Don’t forget to bring your Ten Essentials.

There will be an optional celebratory stop after the hike.

This is a Bobcats trip. The Bobcats' mission is to ensure a variety of challenging CMC trips, especially “B Difficult” and “C” hikes and Difficult Snowshoes, for our mostly age-50+ constituents.  We may sponsor other activities of interest to our members, everything from bike rides to camping.  Although we have members, we don’t have dues or elections, and our trips are non-exclusive.  We welcome all CMC members to sign up for any Bobcats trip regardless of age or Bobcats membership. To join our free mailing list, write Membership Services at or call them at (303) 279-3080.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
