Details

We follow the Rogers Pass Trail along South Boulder Creek until it intersects the Crater Lakes Trail.  Then  proceed along the Crater Lakes Trail to our destination which is the Lower Crater Lakes if snowshoeing and perhaps Upper Crater Lakes if hiking with microspikes.

We plan on this being a snowshoe but in December, who knows?  Plan on weather and ice, so bring snowshoes and traction devices, gaiters and wet-weather gear, hiking poles with snow baskets, and appropriate layers.  Also bring your headlamp in case we make such great time, it's still a bit dark when we start.  A hot beverage is a good idea.

Notes

*This is a Bobcats trip.

The Bobcats mission is to ensure a variety of challenging CMC trips, especially “B Difficult” and “C” hikes and Difficult Snowshoes, for our mostly age-50+ constituents.

We may sponsor other activities of interest to our members, everything from bike rides to camping.

Although we have members, our trips are non-exclusive.

We welcome all CMC members to sign up for any Bobcats trip regardless of age or Bobcats membership.

To join our mailing list,  call or write Mary Bradley in the CMC office.
