On meeting in Idaho Springs we will drive on Co103 (towards Mt Evans) for approx 6.5 miles, turn west on West Chicago Creek rd, the trail head is approx 2.5 milts from the turn off. Follow Hells Hole Tr into the Mt Evans wilderness. Once SE of peak, bushwack to saddle then onto the summit. An extra 2 miles and 400 ft elevation may be added depending on how far up the road we can drive.

Depending on recent snowfall, we may have to break trail. Everyone will rotate trail breaking. Depending on snow depth, some may be up front shorter or longer than others.

If for any reason you need to cancel or contact me after 3pm on the day prior to the hike, please call or txt to inform me. I will not get notification from the CMC that you have cancelled and the parking lot leader will be waiting for you in the morning.

An e mail with final details will be sent out the day prior to the hike. Please check your Junk mail if you do not see the e mail in your In Box. If you have chosen to opt out of notifications from the CMC, please alter this setting as you will not receive e mails from hike leaders.

This trip is rated as difficult, please prepare for possible windy, cold conditions, dress accordingly, bring extra layers including a face mask. We will continue to the summit unless visibility is so poor or winds so high that continuing is hazardous, not because it is difficult. Snow shoes, are a MUST, know how you are going to attach them to your pack, should we need to carry them at times. Consider bringing microspikes.
All participants MUST be able to do a MINIMUM of 2 miles per hr / 1000 ft per hour. In an effort to be respectful to other participants if you are unsure if this is an appropriate hike for you irrespective of your rating, please discuss with the leader prior to signing up.
Contact the leader with any medical concerns prior to the hike.

Must have 10 essentials.

Snack and other breaks will be taken AS A GROUP.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
