Details

We will snowshoe west on Segment 6 of the Colorado Trail, 4-6 miles OB.   Lunch at the furthest point.

There will be a rest stop at the Bailey Loaf 'N Jug, 173 Bulldogger Rd, Bailey, CO 80421.

Never snowshoed?  It's as easy as walking.  Borrow some or rent a pair at REI or your local mountain store, get snow baskets (usually the same brand) to fit your hiking poles, be sure your hiking boots are waterproof, add some gaiters, and you will be good to go. We'll show you a  few tricks, if need be.

Please bring  the  10 essentials  appropriate to  the weather.    If you haven't yet re-provisioned your pack for winter sports, consider these items:

  • Hand/toe warmers

  • Balaclava or neck gaiter

  • Microspikes

  • Thermos with hot drink

  • Boot gaiters

  • And don’t forget to put the snow baskets on your hiking poles!

I'll will send out an email a day or two before with trail conditions.
