Snowshoe up Second Creek trail, past Broome Hut. Take break at hut.  Snowshoe to head of Second Creek and head northeast on upland surface to Twin Cones for lunch stop.

Plan on cold weather as well as windy conditions. Dress accordingly. Bring snowshoes, traction devices, gaiters, hiking poles with snow baskets, face mask, and 10 essentials.

Sunrise about 7:10 am and sunset about 5:15 pm.

The roundtrip driving distance is 80 miles.  (80 miles x $0.30 per mile) = $24.00 to be split equally among all riders and driver.

We'll stop at Downieville service station and convenience store (I-70 exit 234) for a coffee break in the morning.

The Bobcats mission is to ensure a variety of challenging CMC trips, especially “B Difficult” and “C” hikes and Difficult Snowshoes, for our mostly age-50+ constituents.

 We may sponsor other activities of interest to our members, everything from bike rides to camping.

Although we have members, our trips are non-exclusive.
