This will be a fun day to practice your avalanche rescue skills. We've all taken Avy courses, but have you practiced a rescue since then? To keep your skills fresh you should practice every season.

We will find a safe slope near the trailhead to burry beacons and practice different scenarios, including multiple burrials.

GEAR: all participants must have their own beacon, probe, and shovel. Bring typical winter clothing, gear, and food.  Bring the mode of transport that you use the most to get better practice; backcountry skis with skins, splitboard, or snowshoes.

Prereq: You must have taken an Avalanche Awarenss, AIARE Level 1, or equivelant Avalanche Course

NOTE: This is not an official class or instruction. Trip leader is AIARE Level 2 certified but not an Avy Instructor. This is not a substitute for a certifed Avalanche Course. Go to for proper course info.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
