To continue the series, the Boulder Valley Ranch trailhead out and back with little elevation gain. It is a great end of weekend hike.  With luck we'll catch the sunset!

We start at the Boulder Valley Ranch parking lot - https://boulder.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=6cd71bf7d77849bfbcfab9dd48eac2cc&find=412

Be sure to bring a headlamp, water, and a snack.  Dress in layers. Be prepared for all types of weather. Light hiking boots or running shoes are appropriate in good weather.  If there is snow, yak tracks, gloves and a hat will be helpful.

As part of celebrating the open space, learn how to be a good steward by follwoing leav-no-trace principles, check the links below for more information,   bouldercolorado.gov/osmp/leave-no-trace and http://lnt.org/learn/online-awareness-course

Park at the Boulder Valley Ranch trailhead. From the intersection of Highway 36 and Broadway in north Boulder, go north 1 mile on 36 and turn right onto Longhorn Road. Follow Longhorn Road 1 mile to the trailhead (the road goes from pavement to dirt halfway through). The parking area is well marked and obvious on the right side of the road.
