Sheep Rock (not to be confused with multiple Sheep Mtns) is a big and bare granite ridge poking out of the Hayman burn area south of Buffalo Creek.  It is prominent on the road into the Goose Creek TH of Lost Creek Wilderness.  The north face is known to rock climbers and only they and mountain sheep will attain the real summit.  We contour below the climbing cliffs, scramble up the north east face bypassing the true summit, and continue up and down on the ridge to a high point on the south end.  We return the way we came with the possibility of a shortcut down the tiny NW face again just missing the climbing cliffs.  This mostly off trail hike is exploratory for the leader with the exception of his finding a route across Goose Creek and a social trail (probably caused by horses from the nearby dude ranch) leading to the north face.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
