Doggie Hike: Bring your friendly canine friends ... all dogs must wear a leash on the trail.

Staunton Park Loop: 11 miles, 1,500 feet elelvation gain, Difficult B, Bobcat Pace: 2 miles/1000 feet per hour

Equipment: 10 Essentials, Micro Spikes, Leash

Enjoy a pleasant morning hike with your doggie.  Our hike will start on the Staunton Ranch Trail as we meander gently ascending through pine forest and meadows.  We will hike through and admire some historic structures via the Historic Cabin Trail, then turn onto Bugling Elk Trail where our ascent steepens a bit.  We will take Bear Paw Trail passing by the Old Mill and be treated to Eagle Cliff, Pikes Peak and then Catamount Overlooks.  We will join Mason Creek, following around back to the trail head.  Peeps and doggies prep for long, fun hike in winter conditions (microspikes for peeps, water/foot pad protection/jacket for doggies as needed.)

Notes

The Bobcats provide a variety of challenging CMC trips each month -- mostly hikes rated B-difficult and C, and difficult Snowshoes -- for our mostly age-50+ constituents.  We coordinate participating leaders, and then publish links to their trips as part of our monthly newsletter.  Our trips are mostly on weekdays and mostly 12 participants or less.  We sponsor any activity of interest to our members, everything from biking to camping.  Although we have members, our trips are non-exclusive.  We welcome all CMC members to sign up for any Bobcat trip regardless of age or Bobcat membership.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
