This is Hike #96 in "Jefferson County Hikes.." by Dave Muller.  It goes from the Shinglemill Trail crossing on FS-550 S of Buffale Creek north on trail to an intersection with the old Buffalo Creek Road (closed to traffic since the 1990's fire).  There we leave the trails and bushwack NW up Baldy Peak with some scrambling near the top.  For those who don't like what they see you can wait just below the summit.  This leader lead a longer approach from the north last spring but we could not attain the summit due to wet rock and no obvious route up.  It was too wet, cold, and late to search for a weakness so I am going back this time to test the other side of the mountain - well, the book says it can be done!  Join me for this second attempt.  Views from the top should be good as this is the area high point - Long Scraggy and the Rampart Range to the east and Kenosha Mtns and Lost Creek Wilderness to the west.

This is open to members only.  If not a member I may let you on the hike but contact me first.  Non members have a very high "no show" rate with me and I am getting quite annoyed.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
