Details

We will start the snowshoe trip near Beaver Reservoir, at the Coney Flats trail-head. We will go towards Coney Flats on the Coney Flats Trail, then turning right towards the Buchanan Pass Trail.  We will stay on the Buchanan Pass Trail for about 4 miles, going to the Middle St. Vrain trailhead near Camp Dick.   We will then take the Beaver Reservoir Cut-Off trail, and travel towards the Coney Flats Trail and take a short trail back to the parking area near Beaver Reservoir.

For those of you who did this snowshoe last winter, this represents the same loop, except that we will do it in clockwise fashion.

Don’t forget to bring your Ten Essentials.

On the way to Beaver Reservoir, there will be a short comfort stop in Nederland.

There will be an optional celebratory stop after the hike, probably in Nederland.

Sawtooth Mountain.  We should get a view like this on our snowshoe.

Notes

This is a Bobcats trip. The Bobcats' mission is to ensure a variety of challenging CMC trips, especially “B Difficult” and “C” hikes and Difficult Snowshoes, for our mostly age-50+ constituents.  We may sponsor other activities of interest to our members, everything from bike rides to camping.  Although we have members, we don’t have dues or elections, and our trips are non-exclusive.  We welcome all CMC members to sign up for any Bobcats trip regardless of age or Bobcats membership.
