There is full moon on Sunday, January 20th so I figure Saturday night (Jan. 19th) will be a perfect opportunity for another moonlight snowshoe.  I lead a similar trip in December and it proved to be a lot of fun.

We will probably start walking just after 5:00 PM as it starts getting dark.  Our intended destination will be dependent on whether or not the government shutdown is over.  As I'm putting this trip on the schedule Rocky Mountain National Park is closed to vehicle traffic which prevents us from driving to many of the trailheads.  If the shutdown is still in effect, there are a handful of other trailheads we can use to access the park.  Possible destinations could include, Bierstadt Lake, Sprague Lake, or the Wind River area.  Regardless of our starting point I will try to keep the total distance around 4 miles with little elevation again.

After the snowshoe we will stop in Estes Park for dinner.  For those participants from the Denver area I would expect you would be back to the Park-n-Ride between 10 and 10:30 PM.

Feel free to contact the trip leader with any questions.
