MEET AT Chimney gulch trhd on hwy 6, just past Heritage rd, where there is a parking pull out on hwy 6 ON LEFT SIDE HEADING WEST TOWARDS GOLDEN, & small trail sign for Chimney gulch. (there used to be a flag there --hang glidders landed there in the past)

we will leave cars Chimney Gulch and drive around to Apex trhd at old Heritage square where our hike will start.

This info below is for drivers transporting us to our starting trailhead:

trailhead at Heritage Square, --if you are on heritage rd, driving toward I70 and Wooly Mammoth park/ride look for firestation on right and then take very next driveway to right after firestation. (entrance to park ride is different than years ago)

From Heritage Square, follow the Apex trail to to  Enchanted Forest. When we hit the road at Lookout mt, we will take a right and find trail to Lookout mt (or if under snow we may have to walk about 1 mi of road). we will go down trail to Windy pass and continue down lookout mt to Chimney gulch trhd on hwy 6. Hike will end at bottom of Chimney gulch trail on hwy 6. We will have a short car shuttle back to Apex trhd. We will hike at a moderate pace with minimal stops.
