Centennial Cone Park offers a near-backcountry experience, with a 12-mile trail loop that challenges stamina, offers sweeping views of Clear Creek and provides the opportunity to see elk and other wildlife over wide expanses.

Because the Elk Range Trail is closed until this summer, we will be not completing a loop. Instead we will start at the North Trailhead, and hiking about 6 or 7 miles before turning around.

Depending on the trail conditions, we may need to use microspikes and/or snowshoes.

This is a Bobcats trip. The Bobcats' mission is to ensure a variety of challenging CMC trips, especially “B Difficult” and “C” hikes and Difficult Snowshoes, for our mostly age-50+ constituents.  We may sponsor other activities of interest to our members, everything from bike rides to camping.  Although we have members, we don’t have dues or elections, and our trips are non-exclusive.  We welcome all CMC members to sign up for any Bobcats trip regardless of age or Bobcats membership. To join our free mailing list, write Membership Services at or call them at (303) 279-3080.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
