We will be following the Rest House Trail for the majority of this trip. The trail starts at the parking lot at the beginning of the Mount Evans auto road, elevation 10,600 feet. The trail is well traveled and easy to follow. There are a series of ups and downs as we make our way to treeline and travel through the burn area near treeline. The trail to Lincoln Lake, elevation 11,600 feet branches from the Resthouse Trail and ascends about 600 feet over 1 mile to reach the Lake.

The views of the Mount Evans massif are spectacular once we clear the trees.

While our destination will be the Lake, we will let the weather and the pace of the group determine how far we go beyond treeline. We will set a moderate pace.

Please be sure to bring your ten essentials, several layers for wind, snow shoes and microspikes. We will assess snow shoe needs at the trailhead.
