Driections to Trailhead: The trailhead is on the south side of Guanella Pass. Drive on US285 to Grant, turn R on Guanella Pass road and drive past the Abyss and Burning Bear THs to the end of the plowed road with a closed gate.  Veer left and park on the unplowed road near (if possible) to the gate for the Geneva Creek Campground.  But typically, we wil park on the side of the Guanella Pass road.

This is a short ski tour and meant to be an introduction to x-c skiing but not on flat terrain or on a wide trail or road.  The trip goes gently up and down through trees and meadows.  The destination is a log next to the trail for our lunch stop..  It will take us about 1 hour and 30 minutes one-way.  So pack some sort of sitting pad.  Plan to fill your water bottle(s) with hot water before leaving home.  The trip back to the cars will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

This trip is sponsored by the RMOTHG, but is open to all CMC members.

For those who would like a bit more to eat, we'll offer an optional lunch stop in Bailey after the trip. The round-trip driving distance is 100 miles, so please bring $10 with you for your carpool driver.  We'll try to divide up the riders based on one's preference for a lunch stop in Bailey.

Let me know of any medical issues via email. I will check my email the night before if anyone needs to cancel. I'll also send out any necessary weather details.

Check out the Denver Group website:  It has more information than does the regular CMC website about the various activities of the Denver Group.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
