Dominguez Canyons (https://www.blm.gov/programs/national-conservation-lands/colorado/dominguez-escalante-nca) is a wilderness area in Colorado with slickrock canyons, rock art and bighorn sheep. In Colorado Canyon Country, Mark Pearson and John Fielder call it "a spectacular slick-rock canyon wilderness." Monday we will drive to the trail head near Whitewater, hike in a few miles and camp. Sunday we will hike 9-10 miles up Big Dominguez Canyon and camp at a BLM campground. Wednesday we'll hike 5 miles on old roads and off-trail to enter Little Dominguez Canyon and after about 5-6 miles, camp. Thursday. we will hike 9-10 miles out to the trailhead completing the loop. We will stay at a motel Thursday night and drive home Friday.

All participants are expected to be experienced backpackers or graduates of CMC backpacker school.  Preference will be given to people who can assist with navigation, decision-making and emergency situations. Potential participants will be asked to provide information on their experience, skills and equipment. All are expected to bring essentials and be self-sufficient.  Participants can arrange to share tents, stoves, meals, etc. as they wish. We will maintain a moderate pace and stay together as a group while hiking.
