Little used trail located at the edge of Byers Peak Wilderness. The lake is at approimately 11,300 feet, surrounded by higher peaks. The trail climbs steadily through cool, shaded pine forest and along fast running creek, for most of the trip. Eventually opening up to to amazing, lushly flowered high meadows. The lake sits about 15 mintutes beyond meadows.

Conditioning need - must be in shape to keep steady uupwards pace at high altitude. Contact leaders if you have questions.

This is a long drive.  It is recommended you do not schedule an appointment for early evening after the hike..

Early start because of long drive. Will stop at Wendys in Silverthorne for break.
Don't let long drive deter you, good road all the way. Final 3 miles to TH is on graded dirt road..

Be prepared for changing weather. at altitude; bring rain gear and trekking poles plus 10 Essentials.
